Congressman Mrvan has been a champion for the people of Northwest Indiana and the entire country. He is one of only two Democratic US Congress members from Indiana. He has enabled our area of the state to be one of the few progressive districts, championing progressive causes and working tirelessly to combat backward legislation in the US House of Representatives. He gets things done. He brings back funding and countless new projects to our state and especially to Northwest Indiana.
Republicans began to target his office (reliably Democratic for years)over 4 years ago with extreme right wing candidates and a huge influx of money. They target him because he is a reliable voice on the left in the US House. Due to poor turnout in his district, there was a close fight last time. This time they are running someone who has great name recognition and lots of Republican money behind him.
A loss of this office to the Republicans would have consequences for us all. He (as his predecessor) has a strong moral compass, fantastic work ethic, can and does work across the aisle to get things done and is hugely responsive and approachable. He has been a great friend to IndivisibleNWi. Always keeping us abreast of new legislation and projects coming to our district.
