Endorsements From the National Grassroots Organization Follow Endorsements Made by Local Indivisible Groups in Each District or State
Washington, DC — Today, Indivisible announced its first round of endorsements for Congressional races in the 2020 election cycle:
- CA-50 - Ammar Campa-Najjar
- IL-03 - Marie Newman
“Indivisible is thrilled to have Marie Newman and Ammar Campa-Najjar as our first two endorsed candidates of the 2020 cycle. These two exciting congressional candidates show how progressive grassroots power is remaking the Democratic Party and shaking up primaries across the country.
“Marie Newman is a leader in this effort, taking on an entrenched conservative incumbent and the Democratic establishment with an unapologetically progressive message focused on expanding health care, standing with immigrants, and protecting working families,” said María Urbina, Indivisible’s National Political Director. “Ammar Campa-Najjar has worked closely with local Indivisibles to build local power and take on a racist and criminal Republican incumbent. These two Indivisible candidates will be important leaders in the next congress.”
To earn Indivisible’s national endorsement, a candidate must clear a tough three-stage process that requires broad support from local Indivisible group members at multiple points. All endorsed candidates must have a strong progressive platform aligned with our movement’s values and the enthusiastic support of informed energized voters in their district.
