Washington, DC — Today, Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, Co-Executive Directors of the Indivisible Project, and María Urbina, National Political Director of the Indivisible Project, issued the following statement:
“Bernie Sanders has been at the forefront of American politics ushering a new understanding of what is politically possible in this country. His campaign put the voices of poor and working people front and center, and pushed the voting populace to remember a class of people too easily forgotten and overshadowed by the interest of the millionaire and billionaire class.
“Senator Sanders’ candidacy helped ensure this primary included a serious discussion about who this country works for, and how it could work better for working people and the most vulnerable. His message brought more and more Americans in the fight to wrestle power back from the rich and well connected, and rebuild it within the working class of Americans. Because of Senator Sanders’ campaign and its impact, the eventual Democratic nominee will run the most progressive platform of any Democrat in modern history.
“We are grateful for his voice in this election, look forward to him championing these issues in the Senate, and will continue to fight the good fight alongside him. Thank you, Senator Sanders.”
